Star Wars: The Old Republic Release Date in Time for Christmas

At long last BioWare and Electronics Arts have settled on a release date for Star Wars: The Old Republic, the upcoming massive MMO for the PC, and promise to put the game on store shelves in time for Christmas.

Per an official announcement that went out late Friday, Star Wars: The Old Republic will be in stores on December 20. This does not include the collector’s edition bundle which was previously up for pre-order at Amazon.com but has since been removed and is not mentioned in the press release.

There is an advantage to pre-ordering Star Wars: The Old Republic now versus picking it up from a retail store. Pre-odering the game from a participating retailer will include an Early Game Access code. This will grant those players free early access to the game prior to the December 20 release. How early has yet to be revealed, but those who get an Early Game Access code will need to redeem it before the game arrives in stores.

Packaged in with every copy of the game will be 30 days of free access which can be taken advantage of after December 20. Once the 30 days are up, players will need to pay 14.99 per month, $41.97 for 3 months ($13.99/month), or $77.94 for six months ($12.99/month) to continue to gain access to the huge world of Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Click here to pre-order Star Wars: The Old Republic for the PC at Amazon.com and receive an Early Game Access code.
