Justin Bieber: Never Say Never Blu-ray Release Date and Details

Today Paramount Home Entertainment announced the release date and details for Justin Bieber: Never Say Never on Blu-ray and DVD is Friday, May 13, but it’s not the total package some fans may have been wanting.

In the initial announcement there was a special Walmart exclusive version with Justin’s autograph on the cover. Pre-orders for the 1,800 autographed limited edition copies unsurprisingly sold out in minutes and won’t be available again other than in the secondary market.

Paramount also appears to be releasing the original theatrical cut and not the “fan’s choice” cut that hit theaters a few weeks later with extra footage. Some of that footage is in the bonus features, but you can bet a double-dip on home video is in Bieber’s future.

Justin Bieber: Never Say Never was a big success for Paramount in February when it opened in 3D to just under $30 million. By the end of its run, the concert/documentary film earned an impressive $86.5 million in worldwide ticket receipts.

Amazon.com is currently offering a Blu-ray and DVD combo pack and a standalone DVD package for Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. Noticeably absent is a Blu-ray 3D release as Paramount continues to shy away from non-hardware exclusive releases, more evidence of a double-dip in the future.

The bonus features are identical between Blu-ray and DVD only all the Blu-ray supplements will be in high definition.
