Elizabeth Hurley Joined by Tracie Thoms in Wonder Woman Pilot

Elizabeth Hurley beat NBC to the punch and announced via Twitter that she has signed on to appear in the Wonder Woman television pilot as the main villain. All that remains is her work visa clearing.

Hurley’s tweet published overnight read, “Thrilled to be doing the NBC pilot Wonder Woman. I’ll be playing the evil villain. Can’t wait.” She’ll be playing Veronica Cale, the CEO of a leading pharmaceutical company whose envy for Wonder Woman’s beauty and strength grows by the second. She’ll try to use the tools at her disposal to create an army that can once and for all take down the crime fighter.

David E. Kelley is spearheading the return of Wonder Woman to the small screen in a re-imagined way. This new version of Diana Themyscira works as a corporate executive by day and takes on her crime-fighting duties in Los Angeles off-hours. Kelley wrote the pilot which is being directed by The Event’s Jeffrey Reiner.

Also joining the cast is Tracie Thoms who previously starred in Cold Case. She’ll play a personal assistant to Diana.

Adrianne Palicki has already been signed to play Prince / Wonder Woman. Hurley is the second confirmed actor to join the cast that is expected to fill out over the coming weeks.
