Fox’s ‘Fringe’ dropped a bombshell on viewers in the latest episode ‘Immortality’ and simultaneously dropped for the second straight week in the ratings.
The 13th episode of ‘Fringe’ Season Three with its creepy beetles and Valentine’s Day-timed marriage proposal attracted 3.7 million viewers and a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 adult demo. The previous week it pulled 4.3 million and a 1.6 coming off of two consecutive 1.9 ratings in its first two episodes in the new Friday time slot. In total ‘Fringe’ has dropped 27% in the adult demo since moving to Fridays.
You have to suspect Fox anticipated this ratings drop once moving ‘Fringe’ to Friday and the showrunners appropriately prepared for this to be the final season. I’d be shocked if the season concluded with the war between parallel universes plot left unresolved regardless of whether Fox picks up another season or not.
