On April 12, Disney will release Pixar and Brad Bird’s The Incredibles on Blu-ray Disc for the first time. On that same day, a new combo pack version of Cars on Blu-ray with an inclusive DVD will be released. Cars was one of the first Pixar Blu-ray titles made available several years ago.
Both Cars and The Incredibles on Blu-ray are being tied into the Easter gift giving season as well as the June 24 release of Cars 2 in theaters. Each Blu-ray will include $8.50 worth of movie cash to go see the new Pixar sequel which is assured to be a blockbuster, especially for younger audiences (little boys love Lightning McQueen, Mater and the Cars gang).
In addition, current owners of The Incredibles on DVD (many of you, I’m sure) will be able to take advantage of a Disney Rewards upgrade offer worth $10 with the purchase of The Incredibles on Blu-ray.
The Incredibles comes to Blu-ray with a handful of all new bonus features that will be supplemented by all the previously available DVD features on a separate DVD version of the movie. The new features that look to promise more inside access to Pixar Studios include:
- The Incredibles Revisted: Filmmaker Roundtable
- Paths to Pixar: Story Artists
- Studios Stories: Gary’s Birthday
- Ending With a Bang!: Making the End Credits
- Interactive “The New Nomanisan” Island: A Top Secret Redevelopment Plan
- Digital copy
