J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot is only a week from this upcoming Friday and already has built up a head of positive buzz. I’ll be seeing it at least once and I’m not even a “Trekkie,” and if you’re reading this site then chances are you’re good for a ticket or few as well.
Paramount has released a series of new Star Trek in-film clips and a behind-the-scenes montage of J.J. Abrams passionately directing his new generation cast which you can watch below.
The clips include Federation Captain Robau being questioned by Romulan Nero, Captain Pike and Kirk having a little heart-to-heart conversation, Kirk and Sulu preparing for a seriously high altitude jump from a moving shuttle, and Kirk and Uhura chatting it up between an alien sitting at a bar.
The behind-the-scenes montage is likely a taste of what to expect from the upcoming Star Trek DVD and Blu-ray Disc release bonus features rumored for release about a week before Thanksgiving. I’ll make a prediction: Amazon pre-orders for both versions will soar to #1 within a day of availability.
