It turns out My Own Worst Enemy’s biggest enemy were its fans, or lack thereof.
NBC has officially axed the first-year show from its schedule despite high expectations for Christian Slater’s name to draw in big numbers. A draw of only 4.3 million viewers/week helped make the decision easy for the studio.
NBC had positioned My Own Worst Enemy behind Heroes on Monday’s, an anticipated coveted spot that would lead to big ratings from the viewers lead-in. Heroes’ ratings taking a big dip this season put My Own Worst Enemy into an uphill climb from the get-go.
The final episode, “Enemy,” is shooting right now. NBC has yet to comment on if/when that episode will actually air.
