Update: Sony has officially announced both titles for a December 2 release, as speculated. Available disc information has been added to the previous news post below.
Thanks to a tip from “blu,” we’ve learned the folks over at VideoETA.com have added a pair of new Sony catalog Blu-ray listings to their site, only one of which seems to make any sense.
The first listing is for Luc Besson’s The Messenger: Joan of Arc starring Milla Jovovich. The release date is slated for December 2. It will presented in widescreen 2.35:1 1080p video and 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio. Supplemental features are not available at this time.
Falling on the same day is Stranger Than Fiction: Special Edition, an odd choice considering the quirky film has already appeared on Blu-ray and doesn’t fall within the typical double-dip template. It will be presented in widescreen 1.85:1 1080p video and include the following extras.
- On Location in Chicago
- Deleted and Extended Scenes
- Actors in Search of a Story
- Building the Team
- Words on a Page
- The VFX of Stranger than Fiction
Both releases will carry an SRP of $28.95. Check back regularly for high resolution cover art and pre-order information.
