After a short hiatus (re: much needed vacation), the Prophet has returned to put the Weekend Box Office Prophet Game back into service and offer all of you a chance to win a big stack of Blu-ray movies based on your movie earnings predictions.
In this upcoming round, Date Night with Steve Carell and Tina Fey is the only newcomer and instant underdog going up against Sam Worthington and Liam Neeson in Clash of the Titans, last weekend’s champ. Also appearing in this round are holdovers Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too?, How to Train Your Dragon and The Last Song with Miley Cyrus.
The object of the game is to guess the final domestic box office dollars in millions for these five films from Friday, April 9 through Sunday, April 11. Your prediction is averaged in with the other players for a cumulative score to compete against the Prophet predictions.
Should the average player differences between the actual box office gross and predicted grosses beat the Prophet for 3 or more of the 5 films, the top player will win the following EIGHT prizes:
- Mystic River on Blu-ray Disc
- Walk the Line on Blu-ray Disc
- Halo Legends on Blu-ray Disc
- Universal Soldier Regeneration on DVD
- The Running Man on Blu-ray Disc
- Gentlemen Broncos on Blu-ray Disc
- Amelia on Blu-ray Disc
- NEW THIS WEEK: Fantastic Mr. Fox on Blu-ray Disc
If the Prophet wins then all eight prizes will rollover into the next round and be joined by a ninth. Because we love this game, we’ll still award a small prize to the top place finisher (view the overall leaderboard).
Once you are logged in, the average player scores will update in real time below as new predictions are entered. The entry period will close the evening of Thursday, April 8, with this round’s results being published in the next round’s game page on Tuesday.
