We were thinking Netflix’s premiere date for The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance would fall into the fourth quarter of this year. It’s with great glee that we were completely wrong.
Netflix will release all 10 one-hour episodes of director Louis Leterrier’s The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance prequel series to the 1982 Jim Henson fantasy film on Friday, August 30th. That’s only a little over three months from now.
The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance stars Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Nathalie Emmanuel, as Gelflings Rian, Brea and Deet, respectively.
Other cast members portraying Gelflings include Caitriona Balfe, Helena Bonham Carter, Harris Dickinson, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard, Theo James, Toby Jones, Shazad Latif, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mark Strong, and Alicia Vikander.
Voicing a combination of Skesis and Mystics are Harvey Fierstein, Mark Hamill, Ralph Ineson, Jason Isaacs, Keegan-Michael Key, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Simon Pegg, and Andy Samberg.
Donna Kimball will lend her voice to Aughra, a popular character from the original film.
Netflix and The Jim Henson Company have released another new set of images that reveal Skesis and Gelfling at battle, the return of the Skesis banquet table, and more. Check them out below.
