This morning Ellen DeGeneres debuted Disney’s new Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales trailer on The Ellen Show that has substantially more Johnny Depp as a blundering Jack Sparrow than the previous teaser and trailer combined.
For Sparrow’s latest and likely last adventure, he must run from Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), a former enemy who even in death is hellbent on finishing off every last pirate on the seas. A younger Sparrow, who is a spitting image of Depp in full Sparrow makeup, sent Salazar and his crew to their graves. Now Salazar and his ghost crew are out for revenge and enlists the help of Captain Barbossa to track down Sparrow before the pirate can locate the Trident of Poseidon to destroys the ghosts.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales also stars Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner) as Carina Smyth, Brenton Thwaites as Henry, Kevin R. McNally as Joshamee Gibbs, Golshifteh Farahani as the sea-witch Shansa, Stephen Graham as Scrum, David Wenham as Scarfield and Geoffrey Rush as Captain Hector Barbossa.
The fifth film in the Disney mega-franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales sets sail in theaters on May 26th.
