Indiana vs Ball State Preview
The jury is still out on what Michael Penix Jr can accomplish at the collegiate level. We never got a chance to see him start last season before the injury struck, and he only got some spot time playing.
Penix Jr. came in as a highly recruited freshman a year ago but would up losing the starting job. The ACL tear in October lead to surgery and he’s only now 100 percent on his repaired knee and ready to go.
One of Penix Jr’s games he got into last season was against Ball State where he went 4 of 5 with 29 yards and also ran for 13 yards. They got a small taste of what this dynamic quarterback can do.
Ball State has a new quarterback as well with redshirt junior Drew Plitt taking over under center. He takes over an offense that lead the Mid-American Conference in passing last season.
The Hoosiers will be keeping an eye on Ball State quarterback Riley Miller who has caught a touchdown pass in six straight games.
