There is a lot of young MLB talent in the 2019 Home Run Derby tonight on ESPN. That’s without NL sluggers Christian Yelich or Cody Bellinger in the field of eight.

2019 Home Run Derby Field and Preview
Blue Jays rookie slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is drawing the most attention in his first of likely many Home Run Derby appearances. He’ll square off against Matt Chapman of the A’s who was just slotted in to replace injured Yelich.
The next two first round opponents are Alex Bregman of the Astros and Joc Pederson of the Dodgers. Bregman was last year’s All-Star Game MVP.
Mets breakout star Pete Alonso will take on Cleveland’s Carlos Santana in the next bracket. Santana will be hitting in front of his home fans.
The final brackets features another breakout star in Pittsburgh’s Josh Bell, and Braves sophomore sensation Ronald Acuña Jr. This is the most intriguing match-up of the first round as these youngsters are among the NL’s top sluggers.
Overall this year’s Home Run Derby field is the youngest ever assembled. Our prediction to take home the $1 million prize is Pete Alonso.
