Despite Jones’ quick maturation, the Giants will start the season with Eli Manning as their quarterback. How long Manning remains in the driver’s seat will depend on both his effectiveness and health.
Had Elliott not signed then rookie running back Tony Pollard, who like Jones was also a standout in the preseason, then Pollard would have gotten the start.
The Giants will be adjusting to life post-Odell Beckham Jr. as the star wide receiver is now on the Browns.
