The Seattle Seahawks hope to achieve the franchise’s first ever 4-0 start when they travel to Texas to take on a strong 2-1 Houston Texans squad in this 2013 NFL week 4 schedule football game on Fox. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll hopes his league-best defense can match or surpass a Texans squad whose defense is ranked second. Watch Sunday Football live online streaming on Fox instructions are below.
Seattle has played as if men amongst boys through their first three games of this football season, smothering other team’s offenses and scoring when they need to. With each week they to grow stronger, which could prove deadly to not only their NFC West rivals, but the entire league as well.
Thus far the Seahawks defense has only allowed 241.7 yards per game and 27 points total scored against, tops in the league on both accounts. As if that weren’t dominate enough, their defense has forced 10 turnovers, which is tied for second-most in the league. A handful of those 27 points were scored against the second stringers who played out the final quarter against the Jaguars in a blowout win.
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was on fire against the Jaguars and threw for 202 yards and four touchdowns, without an interception, in a little more than a half. By then the game was already won so Wilson got to ride out the rest from the bench. It was a great rebound for an offense that managed only 290 yards against the 49ers despite scoring 29 points in that game.
Houston has only given up 249 yards per game but they have been struggling with forcing turnovers with only one in the books through three games. A lack of forced turnovers combined with giving them up, including four last week in a loss to the Ravens, has left a blemish on their record. Giving up a franchise-record 14 penalties and an 82-yard punt return in the same game didn’t help, either.
It has been four years since these two teams faced one another. In that game, played in 2009, Matt Schaub racked up 365 yards of offense in a blowout win. This is an entirely different Seahawks team that has emerged as a Super Bowl favorite early on in 2013. Schaub will need to limit his turnovers and mistakes if he hopes to win, and I predict the Seahawks will end up achieving their first 4-0 start.
