Watch NFL Thursday Night Football Giants vs Bears

The New York Giants and Chicago Bears have amassed a pitiful 0-4 combined record in their most recent two games on the 2013 NFL schedule. One of them will try to limit turnovers and break their woeful streak tonight in week 6 on Thursday Night Football on NFL Network, not ESPN or Fox, with a kickoff start time of 8:25pm EST. The New York Giants are now a dismal 0-5 to start the 2013 NFL schedule and after losing 36-21 to the Redskins this past Sunday, must now turn around on a short rest and face the Bears. The Giants have not been in this position since 1987 when the strike was in place. The last thing they want or need to do tonight is lose again and fall to 0-6.

Historically the Giants have played well against the Bears including two straight wins and four in a row at Soldier Field in Chicago where tonight’s game will be played. The last win came all the way back in 2007, and a lot has changed in New York since those brighter years.

There’s plenty of blame to pass around in the New York locker room. Eli Manning has thrown 12 interceptions, the most in the league, including three on consecutive drives in the fourth quarter against the Redskins. The defense has allowed a league worst 36.4 points per game, in part due to the many turnovers that set up opponents with a short field to score.

Adding injury to insult, running back David Wilson will miss tonight’s game after suffering a neck injury this past weekend. The league’s worst rushing offense at 56.8 yards per game will rely on Brandon Jacobs and recently resigned Da’Rel Scott to carry the ground game load.

The Bears started the season hot but have dropped their past two games. Jay Cutler has been sacked six times in those loses, but he still managed a strong game against the Saints in a 26-18 loss this past weekend with 358 yards through the air, two touchdown passes and no interceptions.

Alshon Jeffrey has stepped up at wide receiver with defenses doubling up on Brandon Marshall. Jeffrey caught a career best 10 catches for 218 and a touchdown last week and should get more touches against the Giants tonight.
