Tonight’s NFL preseason week two football game features the Indianapolis Colts taking on the New York Giants with a TV start time of 7/6c on Fox, not NBC where regular season Sunday Night games will be aired. The Colts come in looking for more stability from their second and third string defenses after getting blown out by the Bills in week one, while the Giants hope to extend their preseason to a perfect 2-0 record with another Victor Cruz strike. NFL live online streaming instructions for the game are at this post’s conclusion.
The Colts took a tentative approach to their first preseason game and only played quarterbacks Andrew Luck and back-up Matt Hasselbeck a total of five series combined. That precaution about resting starters and veterans carried across the entire offense and defense as they were all pulled early to both avoid injury and let the younger guys take most of the blows.
It’s no surprise that the Colts lost their first preseason came and very well lose again against the Giants. In the eight preseason games played during their two Super Bowl wins, they went only 2-8. The pattern of resting starters and playing it safe during the preseason isn’t a new one to the team and will likely continue again tonight and over the next three games before the regular season starts.
The Giants offense picked up right where they left off last season as Victor Cruz, absent for much of the team’s camp work, jumped in and caught a huge 57-yard touchdown that was the difference in their 18-13 win against the Steelers. Indianapolis will need to be on their toes and lookout for Cruz running past everyone tonight and catching another Eli Manning bomb.
One player to keep an eye on tonight is new Giants starting running back David Wilson. He has a so-so game last weekend with only 16 yards on 9 carries. New York needs to get more production out of him if he’s to remain the starter, so I would expect Wilson to come out hungry and, for his sake, bust out a couple double-digit yardage runs.
NFL Sunday Night preseason football on Fox in high definition (HD) between the Indianapolis Colts and New York Giants gets underway at 7/6c. Fox does not offer a free live online stream of their NFL games. You can, however, pick up the NFL Preseason package for a prorated cost of $14.99 here for the remainder of the preseason to watch a free live online streaming of tonight’s game. Look for the Giants to run away with this game at home as the Colts should pull their starters before the second quarter again.
