Watch NFL Sunday Night Football: Cowboys at Redskins

Tonight’s NFL Sunday Night football primetime game on NBC sets up what should be an explosive conclusion to the NFL regular season. The 8-7 Dallas Cowboys find themselves playing for a chance to win the division – again – and earn a spot to the postseason in their final regular season game. The 9-6 Washington Redskins have rode an improbable six-game win streak to a golden opportunity that seemed impossible around Halloween.

The road to the NFC East title will pass through Washington D.C. this evening as the winner of the Redskins and Cowboys game will move into the playoffs and the loser will head home. Last year the Cowboys found themselves in this exact same scenario and lost to the Giants, who would eventually go on to win the Super Bowl. This year they almost avoided it had they not lost in overtime to the Saints last week.

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was efficient against the Redskins in their first match up earlier this season but came away on the losing end by a score of 38-31 in Dallas. The Redskins defense has been prone to giving up the big pass play, so you can bet Romo will be looking to move the ball through the air and rattle the Redskins secondary early and often.

Robert Griffin III had a field day quarterbacking the Redskins in that Dallas victory, completing 12 straight passes in the second quarter and tossing three touchdowns and over 300 yards by the game’s conclusion. Griffin III has grown as a player since that game, even being humbled by injury on multiple occasions and continually finding ways to help guide his team to victory.

The Cowboys will have to worry about containing rookie Alfred Morris on the ground if they want a shot at winning. Morris an for 113 yards and a touchdown in their previous meeting. With 1,413 yards on the season, he will be looking to cross 1,500 and help keep Romo and the Cowboys offense off the field with a ground-control game that eats up the clock.

If you can’t get in front of a television for tonight’s NFC East deciding Sunday Night NFL game between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins on NBC, you can watch the official free live online streaming option here. This game could go either way, but my prediction is the Cowboys experience prevails and their wide receivers prove too much for the Redskins secondary to handle. Tonight’s NFL Sunday Night Football game to wrap up the regular season in style kicks off at 8:20 pm EST / 5:20pm PST.
