Watch NFL Thursday Night Football Live Online Stream: Eagles at SaintsTonight’s NFL Monday Night Football game on ESPN features two teams saddled with losing records that were a long shot prediction for either team to sport this far along in the season. The 2-5 New Orleans Saints are off to the worst start in the Drew Brees era and played uninspired in a 34-13 defeat to the Broncos last week. The 3-4 Philadelphia Eagles may have a better record than their opponent, but their quarterback and head coach have come under fire of late, and each loss feels like one step closer to one or both being kicked to the curb.

You can’t blame star quarterback Drew Brees for the Saints’ woes this season. Their defense, coming off Bounty-Gate from last season, has allowed 400-plus yards to their opponents in every game this season. In other words, opposing offenses are licking their chops while taking the field against the league’s worst defense this year, and – thus far – one of the worst of all time.

It won’t get any easier for the Saints on the other side of the ball, either. Darren Sproles is out after hand surgery, giving Brees one less reliable target in his repertoire. Sproles has been a big part of the passing attack that has Brees averaging 330 yards-per-game, tops in the league. But last week, Brees looked decidedly average in only throwing for 213 yards.

The Eagles come into tonight’s game with most of their issues on the offensive side. Michael Vick was seemingly on the verge of being benched for tonight’s game, but coach Andy Reid is sticking with his guy – at least for one more game. Vick has improved his turnovers of late, but as a result has been struggling to reach 200 yards passing in games, much less 300.

Reid’s Eagles are only averaging 17.1 points per game this season, one of the lowest averages in the league. You would expect that kind of production from an offense whose quarterback has been knocked out i.e. the Cardinals, but not the Eagles. As such, not only is Vick’s job apparently on the line, so is Reid’s depending on which rumor report you read. A loss tonight would be the fourth straight for the green birds.

Tonight’s Monday Night Football game between the Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints will be televised in HD on ESPN. Those of you with cable access can enjoy a free live streaming version of the game on your tablet or mobile phone at ESPN.com. Kickoff for tonight’s battle of losing records gets underway on ESPN at 8:30pm EST / 5:30 PST. My prediction is the Saints offense kicks into a new gear and win in a high scoring, high penalty affair.
