Watch New England Patriots at Detroit Lions

The 2013 NFL preseason football schedule commences week three tonight with the undefeated New Englad Patriots facing the 1-1 Detroit Lions with a scheduled 7:30pm EST/4:30 PST kick off at Ford Field. Online live streaming instructions for this first of two games on the Thursday night schedule are at the conclusion of this post, though there is no official free streaming version of the Patriots vs. Lions game available.

The Patriots have won both of their preseason games thus far and appear to be chugging along toward another inevitable playoff berth. You would think coach Bill Belichick would be happy, but he has closed practices to the media and public following the Aaron Hernandez fiasco that continues to leave its mark on the team.

Another cause for concern for the Patriots is their backup quarterback situation. Tim Tebow has shown next to no ability to successfully run the offense in his first two preseason games wearing a New England uniform. Though Brady and Danny Amendola are building early chemistry, another knee scare could prove hazardous to the Patriots’ odds of a winning season.

Detroit is coming off an embarrassing 24-6 loss to the Browns and has yet to find any offensive punch through two preseason games. Yes, Calvin Johnson is resting, but when your team is committing more penalties (8) than putting points up on the board (6), your team has some serious issues that need worked out.

The NFL is still offering their Preseason Live package to watch live streaming online for $14.99 a month through September 15. The price is prorated from the original $19.99 a month they were charging when the preseason began. It is unlikely to drop before the end of the program.

Unfortunately tonight’s 2013 NFL preseason football game between the New England Patriots and Detroit Lions is not being television on ESPN, The NFL Network or other stations that have televised these games. As such, the only option to watch a live online streaming version of the game is here via the Preseason Live package, which unfortunately is not free. I predict the Lions will throw up another clunker and the Patriots will score in bunches to stretch their perfect preseason a little further.
