The Saints were given no respect by anyone to win a playoffs game on the road, much less against the Philly Eagles who were on a roll and playing in frigid temperatures. Defying the odds, New Orleans waltzed into Philly and escaped the Wild Card round with a 26-24 win off a Shayne Graham field goal as time expired. It was the first time the Saints had won a road NFL Playoffs game in six tries.
Quarterback Drew Brees has the Playoffs experience far beyond that of his counterpart Russell Wilson, but his 84 passer rating on the road versus 126.3 at home is concerning for New Orleans and their fans. It won’t help Brees that the Seahawks have the best defense against the pass at giving up 172 yards per game on average, and picked off 28 passes to limit opposing quarterbacks to a 63.4 passer rating against them.
