The 2014 NBA All-Star Game festivities are in full swing in New Orleans with the Saturday schedule of events serving up the biggest individual competitions of the weekend. Watch NBA Slam Dunk Contest 2014 and the other events on TNT free live online streaming tonight to see who scores the big awards.
The 2014 NBA All-Star events on TNT tonight get underway with the Sears Shooting Stars competition. This three-on-three basketball skills event features two teams from each conference that each include a current NBA player, an NBA legend player, and a current WNBA player. Last year the winning team was comprised of Chris Bosh, Dominique Wilkins and Swin Cash.
This year’s Eastern Conference teams are comprised of Tim Hardaway Jr. (NYK); Tim Hardaway Sr. (Legend); Elena Delle Donne (Chicago Sky), and returning champs Chris Bosh (MIA); Dominique Wilkins (Legend); Swin Cash (Chicago Sky). The Western Conference teams are Stephen Curry (GS); Dell Curry (Legend); Becky Hammon (San Antonio Stars), and Kevin Durant (OKC); Karl Malone (Legend); Skylar Diggins (Tulsa Shock). The Durant and Malone combo is our pick to win.
The second event on Saturday night is the Taco Bell Skills Challenge. Last year Damian Lillard barely beat Jrue Holiday to win the trophy. He will return to defend his title and play along with Goran Dragic, Reggie Jackson, Trey Burke, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Michael Carter-Williams, Victor Oladipo and DeMar DeRozan. I like Dragic to come out on top given how strongly he’s been playing of late.
Tonight’s third event is the Foot Locker Three-Point Contest. Kyrie Irving won last year with a final round of 23 and will be back to defend against Arron Afflalo, Bradley Beal, Joe Johnson, Marco Belinelli, Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, and Kevin Love. Yes, Kevin Love, though I’m thinking Curry has the edge to win this one.
Last but not least is the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest. Last year Terrence Ross jumped over a ballboy for the winning dunk and he’ll have some stiff competition if he hopes to repeat tonight. The other five contenders are Paul George, John Wall, Harrison Barnes, Damian Lillard and Ben McLemore. You can bet George will pull a 360-dunk out of his hat after showing one off earlier in the season.
