The Chicago Bears will now face the Detroit Lions on Fox in their quest to continue an unlikely unbeaten season and a perfect record, a team they have had success against in recent years. To do so, the Bears will hope their defense can continue to not only force turnovers, but put points on the board without the offense ever stepping foot on the field. Watch Football online live streaming Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions instructions are down below.
The Bears have historically been powered by their defense more so than their offense, and that tradition is continuing in spades this season thus far. Last week in a win against the Steelers, the Bears scored two defensive touchdowns, their second and third of the season. The Jaguars offense is envious of that production. And thus far in 2013, the opportunistic Bears defense has forced a league-leading 11 turnovers.
History is on Chicago’s side in almost every aspect of today’s game. The Bears have beaten the Lions on the road at Ford Field in four of their past five meetings, though last year’s win was a close game. Overall they have won nine of ten against the Lions and have forced a whopping 27 turnovers in those contests, including 14 in just the past three games.
Detroit knows they have their hands full in trying to stop Chicago from improving to 4-0, but at least they will have one of their primary weapons back in the lineup. Reggie Bush had to miss last week with a knee injury sustained the week before and is expected to return. How effective he will be is uncertain, especially considering the injury was his knee and that’s something offensive players are hesitant about testing out fully freshly after healing.
While Bush returns, veteran wide receiver Nate Burleson was injured in a car accident with a broken arm and will be out for several weeks. He was leading the team in receptions at the time of the injury, and now second-year receiver Ryan Broyles will be asked to step up his game while stud receiver Calvin Johnson will draw extra coverage and double teams as the Bears won’t have to worry about Burleson breaking free.
The Bears defense has been on a roll, but nothing lasts forever, and the Lions offense has been the fourth most productive in the league even with their injury woes. I predict the Bears win streak will come to a screeching halt as Matthew Stafford leads his team to a big 30-17 home win and a share of the division lead.
