Watch 2013 World Series Game 4 Red Sox vs Cardinals

The Boston Red Sox are not only behind two games to one in the World Series to the St. Louis Cardinals, but they have to toss aside any lingering anger or frustration and overcome an emotionally draining Game 3 loss decided by a walk-off obstruction call at third base in the bottom of the ninth. The Cardinals have a shot at moving one win away from the World Series title when we watch 2013 World Series Game 4 Boston Red Sox vs St. Louis Cardinals free online live streaming on Fox Sports by following the links offered below.

Last night’s Game 3 was a back-and-forth affair that saw the Red Sox claw up two runs in the top of the eighth inning to tie the game up at 4. That was the pattern for the game up until that point; the Cardinals would take a lead and then Boston would find a way to tie it. After the Red Sox were put down in order in the top of the ninth, the stage was set for one of the most bizarre World Series game endings in the history of the sport.

With runners on second and third and only one out, the Cardinals hit the ball sharply to Dustin Pedroia who made a diving stop. He in turn threw home to get Yadier Molina out at the plate with relative ease. But then Jarrod Saltalamacchia tried to throw out Allen Craig at third and the throw ended up hitting Craig instead and rolling into foul territory. Craig tried to run home but tripped over the legs of Will Middlebrooks instead. By the time he got up and made it home, Saltalamacchia applied the tag and he was clearly out, though called safe due to the obstruction at third base that automatically advances the runner.

Boston argued the call but it was a moot point. The umpires made the correct call on the field and it stood, and the Cardinals celebrated taking a 2-1 series advantage and maintaining home field advantage that they stole in Fenway Park in Game 2. Now the Cardinals are still charting a course to wrap up the World Series without having to head back to Fenway for Games 6 and 7, if necessary.

The Cardinals will call upon starting pitcher Lance Lynn for Game 4. Lynn hasn’t pitched in 11 days, Game 4 of the NLCS, and should be well rested for tonight’s game. Through the postseason thus far, Lynn has a 5.40 ERA and 2-1 record. He beat the Dodgers in Game 4 of the NCLS by a score of 4-2, allowing two runs in 5 1/3 innings of work. The Cardinals hope to get at least five innings out of Lynn tonight when we watch 2013 World Series Game 4 Red Sox vs Cardinals free online live streaming on Fox.

During the regular season, Lynn was fantastic at home with a 9-3 record and 2.82 ERA. Though Lynn is only 26 years old, he’s already a postseason veteran with 20 playoffs pitching appearances, a franchise record.

Clay Buchholz gets the start for Boston and hopes to extend a nice run of stellar pitching that he provided during the regular season. Thus far in the playoffs, Buchholz has come down to earth, mostly due to a shoulder injury, to post an 0-0 record and 5.40 ERA in three starts. Boston manager John Farrell deliberately designed his World Series pitching rotation so that Buchholz would only pitch once. How long he lasts tonight with that shoulder injury will be worth watching closely.

Tonight’s Sunday night Game 4 2013 World Series Playoffs game between the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals will be up against The Walking Dead and NFL Sunday Night Football when the first pitch is thrown at 8:15pm EST / 5:15 PST. The baseball game will be televised in high definition (HD) only on Fox with pre-game coverage getting underway 15 minutes earlier at 8:00pm EST.

The Fox network does not offer the option of watching an official free online live streaming version of Game 4 in St. Louis via a mobile phone, iPad, laptop, computer or various other Internet devices at this time. Live real-time online audio coverage as well as online free live streaming video coverage of Game 4 for baseball fans that reside outside Canada and the United States is available here. St. Louis has the momentum and it will be tough for Boston to rebound after last night’s loss, so I will predict another Cardinals win and chance for them to become the 2013 World Series winners tomorrow night.
