Stanford is more familiar with playing in the Sweet 16 than Dayton and considering themselves a higher seed than what the NCAA ultimately gave them. To get to this point, the Cardinal knocked off New Mexico and Kansas, both teams with higher seedings than them.
Facing Dayton isn’t a big deal for Stanford considering they played Oregon, UCLA and UConn over the course of the season and beat all three of those highly ranked teams. Perhaps their biggest accomplishment this season thus far was beating Kansas last week and holding Andrew Wiggins to 1-6 shooting.
The winner of tonight’s basketball game will face the winner of the Florida and UCLA game. In this match-up of Cinderella teams, I have to give the advantage to Stanford.
