Sony Computer Entertainment today announced Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be released April 17 exclusively for Playstation 3. Previously retailers were listing a possible release date approximately a month earlier in mid-March.
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be available for $39.99 either via download through the PS3 Playstation Network or as a good old fashioned physical game disc from your favorite retailer. It will be the first full-fledged PS3 game made available through both channels.
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will run at 60 frames-per-second at full 1080p resolution all while up to 16 cars race simultaneously. Replay will be slightly compromised at 30 frames-per-second, but should still look stunning nonetheless.
