Red Sox vs Dodgers ALCS Game 5 Online

The Detroit Tigers had a different look against the Boston Red Sox in Game 4 of their AL Championship Series. A juggled lineup implemented by manager Jim Leyland helped them secure a win and even up their playoffs series at 2-2 with a guaranteed two more games to play.

The more things change for the Tigers, the more they stay the same. To preview tonight’s game, starting pitching continues to be a huge strength as each of the first four games have featured stellar performances. That should continue today on the MLB 2013 postseason schedule when we watch ALCS Online Live Stream Baseball on Fox between the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers.

In Game 4, Leyland moved Austin Jackson from the number 2 spot to number 8, shifted Miguel Cabrera from 3 to 2, put Prince Fielder in 3 and had Victor Martinez hitting cleanup. The results spoke for themselves as Jackson was 2-2 with two walks in the bottom of the order and the Tigers as a team scored seven runs en route to a 7-3 win.

Doug Fister started for the Tigers and contributed the fourth straight strong starting pitching performance by Detroit’s staff in the ALCS. He pitched six innings, gave up only one run, and struck out seven Red Sox. Take away a blown save and add a key hit and his series would already be over.

Today the Tigers will send Anibal Sanchez to the mound and hope he can mimic the nearly flawless pitching clinic he put on in Game 1. Through six innings of work, Sanchez gave up zero hits and six walks.

The high walk total combined with 12 strikeouts ended Sanchez’s his game early and denied him a shot at a complete game no hitter. Boston simply couldn’t touch him, and that could be a big problem for them if Sanchez shows up today with the same stuff when we watch ALCS online live stream baseball on Fox.

Boston counters Sanchez with their pitching ace, Jon Lester. The lefty was the loser to Sanchez in Game 1, but still put forth a valiant effort in giving up a lone run on six hits. As with Sanchez, Lester is capable of completely shutting down the Tigers offense depending on how well his pitchers are working for him today.

Lester will want to tread carefully when Miguel Cabrera steps into the batter’s box. Cabrera is a lifetime 11 for 21 hitter against Lester with a home run and pair of doubles. He obviously sees the ball well out of Lester’s hand and will be looking to drive it in today’s game.

Boston Red Sox vs Detroit Tigers AL Championship Series Game 5 has a late start time of 8pm EST / 5pm PST. The game will be televised on Fox with the first pitch being thrown at 8:07pm EST. I have liked this series going a full seven games and we’re still on that trajectory. The odds of the Red Sox and their cold bats beating Scherzer and Verlander back to back are pretty slim. They need to win tonight and we’ll find out if they do when we watch ALCS online live streaming baseball of Game 5.
