NFL Week 11 Recap

Most of the games fell as they should have this week, but the House took a chance on two underdogs and lost both picks. The members posted 13 wins to the House’s 11. After eleven weeks, the score is 6 to 3 in favor of the members, with two pushes. Everybody’s favorite sim, NFL Madden 08 on the Xbox 360, came in with a respectable 10-6 record.

After 11 weeks of the 2007 regular season, the numbers are:

The Challenge
Only two games were disagreed with this week, and both fell the way of the membership. It doesn’t matter at this point now, TMR is probably going to wipe this season from it’s memory anyway.

There were some much more respectable pick sets this week. Nobody in the field earned less than a .500 record this week, with most members guessing over 11 correctly. Maybe things are starting to shape up during crunch time of this NFL season.

UNCLE ELDON came in with an amazing 15 out of 16 correct picks in week 11. He has won The Number 23 on DVD, courtesy of New Line Home Entertainment.

The League
The biggest story this week would be the Steelers falling to the Jets. Other than that, there weren’t any really shocking results in week 11. The usual teams earned their wins again this week… the Pats*, Colts, Cowboys and Packers. Don’t be surprised if they are the last four teams standing this year. Although I won’t be too shocked if none of them are in that class either.

Fantasy Land
Mr. Brady* took his rightful place atop the fantasy leaderboard this week. T.O. finally topped the list after a string of consecutive second-place finishes in the top receiving category. And yet another backup running back earned top honors while his starter watched in pain.

The top fantasy performances in week 10 were:

Quarterback:
Tom Brady – New England Patriots
In 56-10 win over the Buffalo Bills

  • 31/39 for 373 yards, 5 TDs.
  • Running Back:
    Chester Taylor – Minnesota Vikings
In 29-22 win over the Oakland Raiders

  • 22 carries for 164 yards, 3 TD.
  • Receivers:
    Terrell Owens – Dallas Cowboys
In 28-23 win over the Washington Redskins

  • 8 catches for 173 yards, 4 TD.
  • Defense:
    Antrel Rolle – Arizona Cardinals
In 35-27 win over the Cincinnati Bengals

  • 3 tackles, 3 INTs, 2 TDs, 3 passes defended.
  • Clunker of the week:
    Donovan McNabb – Philadelphia Eagles
In 17-7 win over the Miami Dolphins

  • 3/11 for 34 yards, 0 TDs, 2 INT.
