Fox Unveils March Blu-ray Titles

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced ‘Commando,’ ‘Ice Age,’ ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ and ‘Dodgeball’ will be released March 13 on Blu-ray Disc with an SRP of $39.98.

The announcement suggests some or all of the titles in this wave will feature “enhanced and integrated menus, games, high-definition bonus materials and Java-encoding for more dynamic and sophisticated interactivity.” Whether those features are detailed in the specs below remains unclear, other than the mention of HDMV menus on ‘Commando.’

‘Ice age’ will be presented as a single-layer 25GB disc with MPEG-2 compression and 5.1 DTS HD Lossless Master Audio. Extras will include a commentary by director Chris Wedge and co-director Carlos Saldanha, deleted scenes with optional commentary, Gone Nutty: Scrat’s Missing Adventure animated short, and three original theatrical trailers.

‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ will be presented as a dual-layer 50GB disc with AVC compression and 5.1 DTS HD Lossless Master Audio. Extras include ommentary tracks by director Doug Liman and screenwriter Simon Kinberg, producers Lucas Foster and Akiva Goldsman as well as designer Jeff Mann and visual effects supervisor Kevin Elam; deleted scenes, Making a Scene featurette; and original theatrical trailers.

‘Dodgeball’ will be presented as a single-layer 25GB disc with MPEG-2 compression and 5.1 DTS HD Lossless Master Audio. The only extra included will be the theatrical trailer.

‘Commando’ will be authored in MPEG-2 compression with 5.1 DTS Lossless HD Master Audio. Expect the theatrical trailer and HDMV menus.
