EA finally let loose their E3 lineup this morning and while it doesn’t include any real surprises, it does include some glaring omissions. For example, the launch of Playstation 3 this November provides the perfect opportunity to revive the SSX franchise and yet according to this official list, snowboarding is nowhere to be seen. Also a number of next-gen sports titles including “FIFA Soccer,” “NBA Live 07” and “Tiger Woods PGA 07” will be shown as technology demonstrations only in the behind-closed-doors EA Sports Lab. Army of Two, Spore and Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars will also be shown exclusively behind-closed-doors.
If one announcement can be called surprising it’s the playability of Madden NFL 07 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PSP, Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii. We’re extremely curious to see how well Wii’s controller works with a sports title, especially Madden. I get frustrated now and throw the controller with it gripped tightly in two hands so imagine how far Wii’s wand controller will be hurled the first time a CPU opponent wins a game on a one play drive.

Battlefield 2142(TM) — The year is 2142, and the dawn of a new Ice age has thrown the world into a panic. The soil not covered by ice can only feed a fraction of the Earth’s population. The math is simple and brutal: Some will live, most will die. In Battlefield 2142, players choose to fight for one of two military superpowers in an epic battle for survival. Crysis(TM) — Crysis is all-new first person shooter from Crytek, the award-winning developers of the critically-acclaimed hit Far Cry.
