Warner Home Video is currently planning to release all five Dirty Harry films on Blu-ray Disc in June after rumors of the much-anticipated vigilante box set surfaced months ago. This set will not be available on HD DVD as it comes after Warner’s May 31 cut-off date for the now defunct high definition format.
Dubbed The Dirty Harry Ultimate Collection and available June 3 alongside a standard DVD version, the box set will include Dirty Harry, Magnum Force, The Enforcer, The Dead Pool, and Sudden Impact. Dirty Harry joins a trio of Fox “manly” classics releasing on Blu-ray the same date: The Sand Pebbles, Patton, and The Longest Day.
An additional disc titled Clint Eastwood: Out of the Shadows will also be included. At this time we are unsure if it will contain one documentary or multiple supplemental features.
We should know more, including full disc specs and pricing, as well as whether the films will be available as standalone releases, once Warner makes an official announcement in the days or weeks ahead.
