Adrian Peterson looked like his old dominant self against the Cardinals last Sunday. He reeled off a season-high 153 yards on the ground and consistently exploded through Arizona's defensive line. It seemed like every time he touched the ball a five or more yard gain was a given.
While Peterson roughed up the Cardinals, Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder struggled mightily. He threw for a meager 58 yards the entire game and tossed a pair of picks for the second consecutive week. The Vikings run game may be on fire right now, but their passing attack is currently ranked 27th in the league with only 203.4 yards per game.
The antidote to Ponder's woes might be the Bucs secondary who are as porous as Washington's right now. Peterson will be tested running against the Bucs third-ranked run defense in the league, but their secondary is giving up 323 yards-per-game in the air and rank down at the bottom of the league.
Ponder may want to get some tips from Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman before the game starts. The young gun has been on fire of late and has thrown six touchdown passes in his last eight quarters of play. Though his team lost to New Orleans because they gave up five touchdowns, he threw for 420 yards and gave them ample opportunity to win by putting 28 points on the board.
