 Prototype 2 Blackbox, Field Ops and Lair Locations GuideApril 27, 2012 Prototype 2 is out on Xbox 360 and PS3, and there are collectibles to be had. More specifically, scattered throughout the game are a combination of 82 Blackboxes, Field Ops and Lairs that will need to be found and, in some cases, dealt with in order to unlock goodies that will heighten the overall game experience.
Blackboxes, as their name implies, are hidden boxes that you will need to locate and scoop up. Easy enough. There are a total of 45 Blackboxes to be found. Field Ops are a grouping of enemies that need to be 100 percent eliminated in order for the Field Op to be considered complete. You will encounter 28 different Field Ops that need taken care of throughout Prototype 2. Last but not least are Lairs, underground contaminated areas with objectives that must be completed. There are only 9 of these and never more than two in any one zone you will enter. Every Blackbox, Field Op and Lair is located in one of three different zones: Yellow, Green and Red. Each of these zones is separated into 3 or 4 sub-zones that are outlined in the guide below. Once ever Blackbox, Field Op and Lair is found and, if necessary, completed in a zone, you will earn a new Heller mutation that will prove useful as the game progresses. While most game collectibles are simply to unlock an Achievement or Trophy, successfully locating these will impact your gameplay.
